Why we need your help
South Yorkshire's diverse countryside (from rolling hills and fields, ancient woodlands and moorlands to unique peat bogs, rivers and canals) has inspired writers and artists for generations.
There is also a rich rural heritage, having 3,145 listed buildings; 156 scheduled monuments; 26 registered historic parks and gardens and 125 conservation areas. (Source: Government Office for Yorkshire and The Humber) Despite modern day pressures it still provides recreation, refreshment and inspiration for local residents and people from further afield. If it matters to you, read on to discover how you can get involved and protect the countryside for future generations.
How you can help
CPRE is a voluntary organisation in the true sense. We provide a framework for people who care about their local countryside to protect or enhance it in very practical ways. Although we employ paid staff, we could not be effective without large numbers of members, supporters and volunteers.
You can get involved very simply by attending one of our events or becoming a member. If you want to help with our work there are volunteering opportunities for working at home, in the countryside and at our office, both for occasional and for regular work. Join our friendly team of volunteers and make a difference. You can also ensure continued protection for the countryside by making a donation now or by remembering us in your will.
