Rotherham Core Strategy – Inspector’s Report

We recently received news of the publication of the Inspector’s Report on the public examination of Rotherham’s Draft Core Strategy. Richard Hollox was "not convinced that, in its present form, the core strategy is sound". His headline recommendations are that Rotherham’s overall housing target will have to increase from 14,370 to 17,133, in order to address a backlog of completions compared to the existing development plan; and that the Council’s approach to the phasing of sites should be abandoned, due to inconsistency with NPPF.
