Less building in Rotherham!

21st Jun 2011

Rotherham Council is publishing the latest draft of its Core Strategy in July. This planning document sets out how Rotherham will be developed over the next 15 years, identifying the general locations for new housing and employment. We're expecting that the draft strategy will include significant reductions in both the number of homes to be built and the amount of employment land needed. The good news is that this means the amount of Green Belt needed is reduced by 60 per cent.

Whilst the threat to the countryside has been reduced, we'll still be making sure that valuable Green Belt is still not lost unnecessarily!

Keep an eye on Rotherham Council's website and have your say when it publishes the draft.
